We have been actively engaged in novel design, fabrication and characterizations of optoelectronic devices/circuits for high speed data communication/processing systems and various sensor applications. The integrated optoelectronics group is equipped with microfabrication facilities and the research activities are focused on silicon photonics (SOI rib waveguide devices) and lithium niobate integrated optics. The Mechanical-Optical-Electronic Micro Systems (MOEMS) leverage off the combined capabilities of the microelectronics and optical groups to design and fabricated devices such as micro-mirrors. We are also actively participating in a nanoscale device fabrication facilities for advanced research.
