Bagath Chandraprasad
PhD student
Bagath started working in the Applied Optics group as a Project Associate in 2016 and later joined as a PhD student. He completed his M.Tech degree from the National Institute of Technology, Patna, and later worked on IBM India Pvt. Ltd. His research area is Optical Phase Retrieval from a single off-axis interferogram.
Naveen Kumar P
PhD student
Naveen joined the Applied Optics group as a Ph.D. student in January 2020. He completed his Master’s degree from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology Pune. His current research interest is complex light optical coherence tomography.
Jerin joined the Applied Optics group as a PhD student in September 2020. He was a project staff in the same group before joining as a PhD student. He completed his Master’s degree from VIT University in 2014. He is presently working in the design and fabrication of meta-optical elements for generating complex light with tailored properties. He is also exploring the use of deep learning models for designing these elements.
Susan joined the Applied Optics group as a PhD student in September 2020. She completed her M.Tech from Cochin University in 2014. She is presently working on the optics design of endomicroscope for medical imaging. She is also exploring the design of achromatic metasurfaces for the correction of aberrations in multiwavelength optical systems.
Mathu joined the Applied Optics group as an MS student in August 2021. She was a project staff in the same group before joining as an MS student. She completed her M.Sc. Physics in Fatima College, Madurai. She is currently working on the development of a compact optical soil testing system for N-P-K nutrients. She is also working on the design of the optical system in optical software like OSLO and Zemax.
Sreeraj joined the Applied Optics group as an MS student in August 2021. He completed his B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics engineering from GEC Thrissur, Kerala in 2018. He then worked as a product development engineer in BHEL for 2 years. He is presently working on the fabrication of a thermally actuated MEMS mirror for two-photon imaging in an endoscope.
