  1. 30 September 2000: IETE M.N.Saha Memorial Award for The Best Application Oriented Paper titled "Development of an automated high pressure oxidation system (HiPOS)" published in IETE, Jan-Apr 1998, during the 43rd annual convention of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers

  2. 24 Oct 1998: Elected as Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE).

  3. 1984: Cited as One among the Four Best Teachers in the entire Institute based on feedback from the students of IIT Madras.

  4. 1979: Recipient of Post Doctoral Research Fellowship of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY during 1979-1981.

  5. 1977: Recipient of Letter of Appreciation from the Chairman, Board of Governors of IIT Madras for developing High Voltage PIN Diodes for Phased Array Radar Applications.

  6. 1966: Recipient Senior Fellowship of the Ministry of Education for the period 1966-1969.
