Abstract: converters are widely employed in high-frequency isolated dc-dc power conversion applications due to their high efficiency, high power density and galvanic isolation capability. A novel predictive peak current control scheme applicable to both FBRTC and DAB converters. The proposed control strategy utilizes sensed peak current information to predict the required phase shift for the subsequent switching cycle to meet the desired current reference.

The proposed predictive control facilitates controlled peak current operation, improves converter dynamic behaviour during reference peak current variations, and supports parallel converter operation. The predictive control algorithm is implemented digitally and updated at every switching cycle, thereby enabling rapid correction of current tracking error while maintaining stable converter operation.

The effectiveness of the proposed predictive peak current control technique is validated through detailed simulation studies and experimental verification carried out on both FBRTC and DAB converter prototypes.
