K. Giridhar

Namaskaram! Welcome to the Telecom and Wireless Sensing (TelWiSe) group at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras.

My academic research interests include adaptive estimation and detection and their applications to broadband wireless transceiver algorithms. In particular, custom air-interface and system designs, advanced waveforms and and algorithms for wireless links and development of hardware protos for the same, and strategic and secure communications is a major activity in our research group. While the TelWiSe group also works on beyond-5G technologies such as advanced SatCom, simultaneous spectrum sharing, and critical broadband communication systems, we have built considerable expertise on wireless sensing technology with an emphasis on distributed radar signal processing.

In particular, we are delighted that three patent applications on our Broadband Access for Spotless Inland Coverage (BASIC) techonology which has been designed by the TelWiSe group from 2014 onwards (on the theme of non-orthogonal spectrum sharing, especially suitable for the sub-700MHz bands) have been granted by the United States Patent Office and the cover pages of these three US patents are enclosed here USPTO granted patents on BASIC.
