Dr. Kaushik Mitra

Dr. Kaushik Mitra leads the Computational Imaging lab at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. He is an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical Engineering, IITM. Before joining IITM, he was a postdoctoral research associate with Ashok Veeraraghavan at ECE department of Rice University. Here, he worked on framework for analysis of Computational Imaging (CI) systems. Prior to that, he earned his Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, where his research focus was on the development of statistical models and optimization algorithms for computer vision problems. Currently, his research interests are in computational imaging, computer vision and machine learning.

I am a Regular Ph.D. Student with Dr. Kaushik Mitra in the department of Electrical Engineering, IITM. I joined Computational Imaging Lab in July 2017. Prior to that, I got M.Tech from IIEST Shibpur in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and B.Tech from IIIT Nuzvid in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Currently, my research Interests are in Computational Imaging, Machine Learning and Computer Vision.

I am a final year Ph.D. candidate working under Dr. Kaushik Mitra in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras. My research area includes computational imaging, image processing and deep learning. In particular, I work on developing reconstruction and design algorithms for lensless imaging systems. Prior to this, I obtained my B.Tech from NIT Rourkela.

I am a final year PhD student working on Plenoptic Cameras. Currently I am working on designing memory efficient Neural Nets for images captured via Plenoptic Cameras. Before joining IIT Madras I did my masters from IIT Gandhinagar in Image Signal Processing.

B H Pawan Prasad

Pawan as he would like to be called in short has been working in the domains of Computer Vision and Computational Imaging in last 15 years. He is currently purusing his PhD (external) at IIT Madras under the guidance of Prof.Kaushik Mitra (EE, IITM) and Dr.Lokesh Boregowda (Samsung Research). He has worked in companies such as Texas Instruments and Samsung Research. His works in the areas of computational imaging has been instrumental in getting the best camera experience for millions of mobile consumers. Some of his noted works are in High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR), Multi Frame Super Resolution, Low Light Imaging, Artefact removal such as Reflection Removal and Shadow Removal, etc. These works have been succesfully commercialized in millions of Samsung mobile devices. His current research interests include fast and efficient approaches to Image Enhancement such as reflection removal, denoising, deblurring, etc using learning based approaches.

Reddy Joshna Manoj

I am a 2nd year M.S. student working under the guidance of Prof. Kaushik Mitra. Currently working on a project - 3D Reconstruction of Endoscopic images. My research interests are Machine Learning, NLP, Deep Learning Algorithms, and Computer Vision. Prior to IITM, I worked at Infosys and DRDO as a Technology Analyst having an overall experience of 6 years in the software industry. I completed my B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Koneru Lakshmaiah college of engineering, Andhra Pradesh.

I'm an MS research scholar under Prof. Kaushik Mitra. I have joined computational Imaging Lab in January 2022 .I'm currently working on Enhancement of extreme low light images for ADAS and night time image sensing for increased human perception .
