Course notes
Below is a set of course notes for EE6323 Wireless System Design, a graduate course taught at IIT Madras. The audience is a mix of senior undergraduate and beginning graduate students in engineering. The course takes one wireless system apart and rebuilds it, moving across three verticals, each taught by one instructor:
-
Digital Communications (DC) — Radha Krishna Ganti
-
RF electronics (RF) — S. Aniruddhan
-
Electromagnetics (EM) — Uday Khankhoje
The notes are organised by vertical. They follow the topic order used in class, and they aim at what a working wireless engineer needs from each area rather than a full treatment of any of them. In particular, the EM notes give a working knowledge of antennas and propagation without the detailed derivations of an advanced electromagnetics course.
RF electronics (RF)
Notes for this vertical will appear here.
Electromagnetics (EM)
Companion pages with Matlab commands (using the Antenna Toolbox) for working through the material:
Print versions: antennas.pdf, arrays.pdf.
