Sub-systems

Much of the work we do requires that we build electronics to drive lasers, or detect optical signals. Today, we build most of our sub-systems internally. Most commonly used (electronic sub-systems) are

  1. Laser Driver
  2. Low noise amplifiers (LNA), transimpedance amplifiers (TIA)
  3. Single photon detector - Gated avalanche photodiode (GAPD)

We also build optical components for our metrology and instrumentation work. Some completed and on-going projects include work on:

  1. Fibre ring laser (capable of lasing simultaneously at 4 wavelengths)
  2. Pulsed lasers
  3. Diffractive optics (gratings)
  4. Optical MEMS (micromirrors, tunable gratings, attenuators)
