Title: Brain MRI and Histological Image Analysis Using Representational Learning in an Unsupervised Manner.

Abstract :

Representation learning has emerged as a powerful paradigm for enabling deep learning models to learn meaningful features without supervision. This work first introduces a deep learning method that captures a latent representational space in which brain pathologies in MRI are effectively delineable. Building upon this foundation, we explore how such a representational space can be made more efficient—not only for binary classification tasks but also for more complex stratification, such as multi-class brain region identification. To this end, we propose a diffusion-based autoencoding framework that structures the latent space to encode detailed anatomical information, enabling unsupervised classification of brain regions. Furthermore, we leverage these learned representations to develop an unsupervised artifact restoration technique, demonstrating the versatility and robustness of the representation space across multiple downstream tasks.
