Shanthi Pavan

I am a professor of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, where I have been teaching and conducting research in the analog area since 2002. Prior to this I worked on microwave IC design at Big Bear Networks, Milpitas, CA . I graduated with a D.Sc from Columbia University in 1999. I was affiliated with the Columbia Integrated Systems Laboratory. My doctoral research was supervised by Prof. Yannis Tsividis. A big chunk of my thesis work was done at Texas Instruments, in the R&D group at Warren, New Jersey, where I also worked for three years. I obtained my B. Tech. degree in electronics and communications engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India in 1995. My research interests are in the fields of continuous-time integrated analog filters, MOS transistor modeling, analog-to-digital conversion, optoelectronics and RF design. By the way, the layout of this homepage has been plagiarized from that of my friend Nagi Krishnapura.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in pursuing research in the areas of Analog/Mixed signal IC design at IIT Madras. We have MS and PhD research programs to which students are selected by interview, typically twice a year. If you work for a company and are motivated enough to want to pursue an advanced degree, IIT Madras allows something called an "external registration". Some details of these programs can be found here and here.
