Current Funded R&D Projects
- Custom Air Interface Designs : We are developing for a major communication equipment vendor,
several custom solutions for specific strategic and tactical needs which include:
(a) Multi-point to Multi-point communications, (b) Ground-to-Air to platforms
which can face normalised Doppler up to 0.7, and (c) Jammer-resilient communications.
- Robust Estimation and Detection : For a MNC who is a leader in mobile broadband technology space,
we are developing turbo equalisation algorithms for typically non-Gaussian measurement models.
- 5G Wireless Waveform Design : As part of a large inter-institutional project funded by DietY,
we are designing new waveforms for (a) Supporting multi-operator simultaneous spectrum sharing, and (b) Support
very low power, but ultra-reliable uplink waveforms.
- Versatile Baseband Processing for Wideband Receivers : As part of a long-term project for DRDO, our
research group is defining jammer-proof wideband receivers which can use block modulation as the framework to
implement nearly all conventional and modern covert and/or fail-safe communications.
